I randomly heard about The Noisettes last year while reading up on some music. They are a band from the UK and now their label has their eyes set on a U.S. breakthrough. To further that, here’s a fancy looking video for “Never Forget You,” a soulful, Motown-lite track that showcases front woman Shingai Shoniwa’s voice (she’s also the bassist). In the clip, the band (Guitarist Dan Smith and Drummer Jamie Morrison)perform in a dusty, empty theater while Shoniwa hangs out in a car before joining them.
I like it and the jazzy direction of it will help them break through the less accepting U.S. Market. Yet what my ears yearn for is some more of their rock music, specifically “Scratch Your Name” that came out in 2007. Check out the video for that too.
