What a way to bring in 2010, the very first new artist that I’ve heard has me sitting on my bed  with my mouth wide open and scouring the internet for as much music from her that I can find. Szjerdene (pronounced Jer-deen) is from the UK, a part of the globe that has been relentlessly providing us with amazing R&B/Soul/Jazz talent this past year. While artists like VV Brown, Estelle and Lykke Li have hovered just below the bubbling point, Amy Winehouse, M.I.A. and Lily Allen blew the roof off in their crossover success.  I’m not sure if Szjerdene even cares about her global domination at this point, but when I hear music like this I can’t help but to want everyone I know to know about her too.  That way, we can sit around discussing her among our favorites of 2010 next New Year’s.
