Rolling Stone Crown’s Jay-Z King of America

Forget about King Of New York, in the new issue of Rolling Stone that hits the stands on June 24th Jay-Z, is addressed as the King Of America.  The excerpt’s reveal the main reason’s why that is but I’m sure you can come up with a few reasons on your own.  The interview asks the question: How does he run the game?

He says that rappers don’t know how to age gracefuly and that he love’s “the energy coming out indie rock right now, it has this rebellion thing that hip-hop is missing now, the thing that made hip-hop hip-hop.”

Jay-Z has been very private but as he gets older he let’s us know little tidbit’s about his business life and marriage.  I don’t know about King Of America but I will say the man is a marketing genius.

There was an argument the other day about what is a superstar.  Is Nicki Minaj a superstar?  Then a statement was made that Diddy was the smartest man in music.  I think that Jay-Z hold’s that title.

He’s had more Number One albums than Elvis Presley. He hangs with Barack Obama at the White House. And he’s riding high after leaving his longtime label Def Jam to work a $150 million deal with Live Nation, delivering some of his best live performances ever.
