In a statement released to the media today, Kimora announced the news that she is leaving the company that she founded to move on to other endeavors:

“After 14 years of conceiving and nurturing Baby Phat, it’s time for me to move on and further expand my other businesses and create a new phenomenon. I adore all those who have faithfully been with me since the beginning. I’m forever dedicated to my family, fans and customers. My inspiration has always come from the fabulous women who have been with me through the years as we’ve grown from young party girls to power players! We’re ready for our next journey together and we’re taking a whole new generation of incredible young women with us. Girl power unite!”

Just when I was starting to like the brand again…minus the cats everywhere. Well congrats Kimora! I’m sure whatever you touch next will golden.

I can tell that this album is going to be awesome and it sounds more musical as well.  But will Nothing be better than their first two classic albums? Help Me decide, Nothing comes out on September 7th.

I stumbled upon the wonderful voice of New Zealand artist Kimbra today.  She reminds me of Corinne Bailey Rae except not as bland.  She even does some dancing in this track about wanting to settle down and have a baby named Nebraska Jones.  But her voice is what I love, it’s very soulful without being pushy like some singers can be *coughs *Joss Stone .  Feeling the urge are you? props to kickkick

When Gucci Mane performed a secret show at Nike Stadium in New York last night, we were determined to FlipCam his performance come hell or highwater. We found ourselves amid a hurricane of violent and sweaty men who were so pumped they were literally moshing, but despite having arm fatigue and being jostled (not to mention being accidentally boob-grabbed several times by a ponytailed bouncer), WE ACCOMPLISHED OUR GOAL. War wounds: stiff neck, small cut on foot. It was all worth it for Gucci, a mushmouthed star who powered through all the hits in a short 25 minute set—including “Lemonade” and a much-discussed, Waka Flocka-free “Hard in the Paint”—with an unexpected bumbling charm.
